Secondo lavoro per STOPPER 72, progetto solista di Gabriele Colandrea, chitarrista della band romana LA CLAQUE DI DAFNE.
In bilico tra new wave e psichedelia, tra metal e post rock, “Roibeard” e’ un concept liberamente ispirato alla storia di Bobby Sands, militante dell’ I.R.A. morto nel 1981 nel carcere di Long Kesh, Irlanda del Nord, al termine di uno sciopero della fame iniziato 66 giorni prima affinche’ il governo inglese, presieduto dal Primo Ministro Margaret Thatcher, riconoscesse a lui e ai suoi compagni lo status di prigionieri di guerra.
La lotta per l’ indipendenza si trasferiva dalla strada al carcere, e altri nove militanti, dopo Bobby Sands, moriranno nei famigerati H-Blocks.
Suoni, melodie e atmosfere si fondono in cinque brani, per fare ora da cornice, ora da voce narrante, ad una delle pagine piu’ emozionanti, e meno conosciute, della storia contemporanea.

Second work from STOPPER 72, solo project by Gabriele Colandrea, guitarist for the italian band LA CLAQUE DI DAFNE. In between new wave and psychedelic sounds, metal and post rock, "Roibeard " is a concept loosely based on the story of Bobby Sands, activist of the I.R.A. who died in 1981 in Long Kesh prison, Northern Ireland, after a 66 day long hunger strike whose aim was to put pressure on the British government, led by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, to recognize him and his comrades the status of prisoners of war. The fight moved from the street to the prison, where Bobby Sands, and nine other militants died in the notorious H-Blocks. Sounds, melodies and atmospheres blend into five pieces, sometimes to tell, and other times to provide a context to one of the most exciting, yet less known pages of contemporary history.
